Dr. Emerson is a very good veterinarian! He has alot of knowledge from many years of experience and his prices are very affordable. He doesn't suggest costly unnecessary treatments. I've taken all my cats and my dog to him for years. He has always been spot on with his opinions and advice. I highly recommend Dr. Emmerson.

Had such a great experience at McMillan Animal hospital! Dr. Emerson really knows his stuff and was awesome with both our older dog and new puppy. They helped us figure out some arthritis issues and eye irritation with our senior pup, and made sure everything was explained in a way that actually made sense.
We had both dogs in at once, nail trims and updated shots for both, and the whole team handled it like pros—super calm, patient, and kind the entire time.
No surprise charges or random add-ons like we've had at other places. The prices were super reasonable, and it felt like they actually cared more about the animals than pushing extra stuff.
Highly recommend if you're looking for a down-to-earth, solid vet who really knows what they’re doing.

I used to go here with the past pets I had. One was 18 years old and had been very sick for the last three years of his life. I took him in one day when Dr Emerson wasn't there and apparently my cat had a tumor on his liver, but she didn't tell me about it. I took him back in on a later date becaused I was confused about what she said and that's when I was told about the tumor. It got to the point that he needed to be euthanized. I didn't have issues with them until this happened. The day I took him in to get it done, the doctor peeked inside the door with the needle and was inject him just like that. I said wait a minute, I want to see the x-rays. The tumor turned out to be very large. Then the assistant charged me for an exam on top of the euthanasia. It took over a month to get credit for that. There was no exam. It wasn't until I went to Sumner veterinary hospital for my other cat later on who unfortunately had an embolism and had to be euthanized, that they are supposed to give a sedative first and Dr Emerson did not do that. They spent a lot of time with me and my cat in Sumner and at Mcmillan I felt rushed and they overcharged me too. On top of that, the assistant kept giggling the whole time we were there. What? So rude to behave that way when my friend of 18 years was gone.
Two months later, I took a new pet in to see him and he wanted to give another rabies shot even though he already had one on his record. Most of the time there is no parking and people have to park on the highway. Yes, they are cheaper, but they overbook appointments and he is running in and out to get to the next patient. Also I made three attempts to make an appointment for my cats eye and no one returned my call. I have to better for my pet. He is too precious.
Is really worth it to save 20 dollars?

Dr. Emerson and his staff are amazing!! Brought my big girl in for a visit, we hoped giving her a shot for allergies would take care of the issues at hand and they did, she is back to her normal self today! Yay! Dr. Emerson is very kind and gentle! His staff are all very sweet and love on my girls when I bring them in!

Only treat small dogs, they don’t tell you that until your appointment, then get you for a exam

Took my 10 year old Shih Tzu here for a teeth cleaning, scheduled an exam & the staff was great. Once exam was done we scheduled a day for the cleaning, ended up needing some extractions during the cleaning. They took great care of my pup & he has been healing well since his visit. This vet also has very affordable pricing. Great local vet I will be using again 👍🏻

I always love this place, my animals come here and get pampered and medically treated within minutes. Twice now I have come here for assistance with my dog, the vet looks at my dog for less than 60 seconds and already knows how to properly assess my animals condition. I refuse to go anywhere else as they seem to know exactly what they are doing. If you want honest answers, great pricing, and a place for your animal to feel comfortable, this is without a doubt the best place to go! Amirah-rose and I will always be coming back to this place.

We've been coming here for about 4 years now with our dogs. We love them. The staff is no fuss no frills straight forward treatment which we appreciate. They're knowledgeable, don't try to shove a bunch of unnecessary procedures or medications on your animals.

Warning: long post. :).
I have been to many vets over the years while fostering dogs and cats in addition to my own companion animals. I needed to see a vet for my cat that was declining rapidly. I was given an almost immediate appointment and then sadly, my cat needed euthanasia. The staff was wonderful and Dr. E. was amazingly calm which calmed me. I have since left my vet of over 20 yrs. and moved all my pets into Dr. Emerson's care. I have never been disappointed with the staff or the care and most importantly, the teaching about what my pets had so that I understood fully the medication and the methodology of treatment. My rescue dog was at ease and her medical problems were resolved and since then I have a puppy that needed all the usual care a pup needs. Dr. Emerson is calm, educates you and says it in a straight forward way. Yesterday I brought my old GSD to the clinic for what I thought would be an easy fix given his age and sadly, that was not the case. My guy has a progressing disease that will require ongoing care and Dr. Emerson told me clearly and succinctly what his issues are. He asked me twice if I understood him and educated me regarding the anatomy of his problems. I appreciated that as I was in a bit of a shock when he told me what they were. Dr. E. wanted to make sure I understood the medications and the schedules. This calmed me and honestly, uplifted me despite his diagnosis. I did not have to go home and Google the medical diagnosis and make my own plan. I should add that I am a retired nurse and that I have helped with rescue and fostering for over 30 years. In that time I have encountered many vets that have performed or ordered many unnecessary tests, scans and treatments. I appreciate that I am not being sold something that my pets do not need and have to endure or that I am not gouged financially. He is now my regular vet. I know that my animals are receiving the best care, that the staff is amazing and the ability to get an appt is easy and while many complain about the parking situation, please realize that Dr. Emerson's office has been there many, many years before the valley and roads to Orting were so busy. Patience is of value for parking however the parking spots are clearly assigned, his phone number is on every post by the parking spot and the staff comes out to help you and this is especially helpful if you are bringing multiple pets to his office. Sidebar: Some of us have dog reactivity issues and with his small office and parking lot we do not have to deal with the reactivity of our dog or someone else's dog. I was in his parking lot about a month ago with my puppy who loves everyone. In another vehicle was a very big and loud dog who scared my puppy to the point of cringing. The staff appeared quickly and brought the big dog inside the clinic having assessed the issue from inside the clinic. Amazing is all that that I can add!!
